The National Centre for Radio Astrophysics, Pune [NCRA] of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research is on the lookout for suitably qualified candidates for the following Tradesman - B and Work Assistant positions at its Radio Astronomy Centre at OotyScientific Assistant-B [Trainee]
[1 post; ST+PWD (HH)*; HQ: Ooty]
Stipend: 16,000 pm. Successful training will lead to absorption, on probation, as Scientific Assistant-B in PB-2: 9300-34800; GP: 4200 [TME: 33387/-].
Minimum Qualification: (a) B.Sc. (Physics / Electronics) / Diploma in Engineering, (Electronics/ Electrical and Electronics) with 60% marks in aggregate. (b) Knowledge of use of personal computers and its applications.
Nature of job: Initial training in electronics/ electrical, computer systems and operation of radio telescopes as Trainee for 1 year. Bond is to be executed before joining to serve NCRA for at least 3 years after successful completion of training. The incumbant will have to work on shift duties.

Tradesman-B [Mechanical]

Minimum Experience: Either (i) 5 years or (ii) NCTVT with 4 years in reputed workshop /organization on large antennas, hands-on experience on heavy sized gearbox maintenance, exposure to various sheet metal developments and its fabrication, structural fabrication, various maintenance works, etc. To work at a height of 20 meter.
